amity ⋆ renee ⋆ GERBER
My name is Amity Renee Gerber, and I was going to be a star. I had it all planned out, and it just seemed so perfect. I was lucky to be born into the Gerber clan. It seemed like my father's family had been influential in Chicago for years. They'd never tell me exactly what they did to become so powerful, but I think it has something to do with Al Capone. I was the baby of my family, being born on November 12th, 1992. I had three older sisters who, along with my mother, taught me the etiquette and fashion sense a Gerber girl should have. Serenity Hope Gerber, a 25 year old Yale graduate, never really saw eye to eye with me. Ever since I could talk I knew that I wanted to be a famous Hollywood actress, and everyone in my family totally supported my decision. Except for her. She was always bitching about how the Gerber family name would be ruined by mainstream pop culture, but I always viewed it as a way to extend my family to the rest of America, and then eventually, the world. The 22 year old twins, Destiny Elizabeth and Faith Eileen, were the type of sisters who would do everything together. They would always try to date at the same time, they both got engaged at the same time, and they even married on the same day. Rumor has it, they both lost their virginity in the same night, to the same guy. They both recently graduated from Harvard, and plan to use Daddy's money to start their own firm. If they can even do that.
I'm all for the ever popular expression, "YOLO". While for the most part my sisters were relatively "clean" during their high school Careers, I was the kind of girl who either went to or hosted every party in Chicago. This one time, I crashed a chess club meeting with a few of my girls. We brought booze and you should have just seen their faces when I made out with my best friend, Chelsea. I didn't see the point in not having fun, as long as I kept my grades up. I maintained a 4.0 grade point average all four years of high school, which is a feat I'm rather proud of. When you lie to make your way to the top, you must always be cautious of anything you do or say or even think. But whenever you're born into popularity? You're the one who can start trends. My school's drama club became one of the largest in Illinois whenever people started to notice my name on the sign up list. I had all the power. Of course, with great beauty and wealth comes a handful of suitors to choose from. I carefully decided who I would let take me out on a date, who I would let hold my hand, who I would let kiss me based on family feedback. But never who would make love to me. No, I was saving myself for after I won my first Academy Award. I wouldn't, no, I couldn't let something like a pregnancy ruin my career.
I mean, I have all the looks required to be a movie star. Perfect, straight brown hair that falls from a perfect, round head. I like to raise my eyebrows when I'm being photographed as to protrude my large, chocolate colored pupils. My nose bridge is a perfect length, and my nostrils curve at just the perfect angle. Lips full enough to be seductive yet thin enough to not be fat. My ears extend farther than I'd like them to, though I usually comb my hair down to conceal them. I have a pretty rockin' body, if I do say so myself. I'm not starving myself or anything, but I stay on a strict diet. Basically, I set up a point system based on how many carbs I eat, and I have to make up for them by jogging for a certain time frame. Looking perfect isn't easy. I'm so blessed to have enough money to buy enough makeup to cover the blemishes that little my face. It's a lot of work to look so banging, but it really pays off in the end. One day, it's my dream to start up a charity to help low-income children battle the obesity epidemic. Call it, Amity Cares, or something.
I must say, my biggest accomplishment was when I was cast as Éponine in Les Misérables during my senior year. I know that the show doesn't have a standout female main character, but my character did get to sing one of the most widely recognized songs of the musical. Opening night was absolutely amazing. I just know I made like, half of the audience sob. Daddy couldn't be there, because he had some important business meeting or something. Faith and Destiny were on a double date with their husbands. Mother was on a large shopping trip in London, though I forgave her for missing the show whenever she brought me back this totally cute pair of Gucci shoes. And I guess Serenity just didn't care enough to make it. Well, I wouldn't let nobody in my family coming be a total bummer on my night. I was going over to Chelsea's house, and we were all going to get totally hammered, and it was going to be great. But then I met Elliot. I was walking to my car alone, and I'm not going to lie, I was totally creeped out when his shadow started inching towards me.
