Section One: Behavior i. This site is rated pg-13, please keep swearing to a reasonable level (creative license is respected, if you have a character that is a potty mouth then be true to that, but don't go overboard), and no sexually explicit content will be allowed. The basic rule for any sort of sexual content is that the situation must "fade to black" within the context of the thread. Implication is okay. Graphic description is not. ii. Harassment due to race, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or anything else is unacceptable and will be dealt with accordingly. iii. No fighting in the c-box or anywhere else will be tolerated, if you are angry with another member, please work out the issue through private messaging. iv. If you are caught stealing another member's work in any shape or form, you will be dealt with accordingly. v. Use of chat speak is not acceptable, as this is a written out roleplay. It is expected that you use proper spelling and grammar in every board on the forum. vi. If any image, post, thread is found to be vulgar or makes another member uncomfortable it can be removed without notice. vii. Advertising is to be contained to the advertising board only. No links in the c-box, and no private messaging is allowed.
Section Two: Characters i. All characters must be created in the Character Creation Board. ii. Your character must be accepted before you are allowed to roleplay. iii. We ask for an app length of at least two paragraphs for appearance, two for personality, three for history, as well as a four hundred word roleplay sample where you may godmod another character, just so we can see how you'd write them. iii. Paragraphs are five sentences each with at least ten words. iv. Please do not argue with the moderator checking your app as it makes the whole procedure far more pleasant. v. Please use the application format provided, but if you would like to use your own template, simply make a post with the required template first, and then post underneath with your template. Please make sure it has all the required information. vi. Please title your application, with the character's full name, and race. If it is a Work In Progress, put WIP in the title. vii. A list of characters currently available for application has been provided. viii. The maximum number of characters per writer/account is three (3). ix. In order to write an original character, you must already have claimed and written the bio for at least one character from the canon list. x. Original characters can ONLY be Downworlders or mundanes. The only way you can make a Shadowhunter is if they are one of the characters from the canon list. NO EXCEPTIONS. xi. There is no need to make more than one account. xii. If a member does not log in for one month (30 days), their character(s) will be moved to inactive and their spot(s) on the canon list will open back up. The only exception is for planned absences (long vacations, family emergency, school trouble, etc.) which must be posted about in advance on the Intro/Leaving Board.
Section Three: Roleplaying i. There are absolutely no allowances for 'out of character posts' in 'in character' boards. ii. No posting with an unaccepted character. iii. Chat speak is absolutely, 100% prohibited because if I see it in a thread, I will die. iv. Post minimum is 400 words. Exceptions may be made for blitz threads if something has to happen quickly within a plot, but staff permission must be given for this to happen. v. No godmodding a character without your partner's permission. vi. Your character can be in as many threads as you like, as long as it makes sense. vii. No posting in a thread without asking the author's permission, unless it is tagged as [open].i. possible tags are:
- [open] - you may post in this.
- [member name] - this thread is closed
- [plot name] - this thread is closed to you, unless you are in said plot.
viii. You may post in whatever point of view you like, as long as you do not switch back and forth in one thread/post/bio. These entail: first, second, third, in past or present tenses.
